Patient Care Technician
 
 
The Patient Care Technician (Aide) will provide a cross-trained health care worker.
 With multiple exit points, the program will training in basic nursing assistant,
phlebotomy, electrocardiograph, and advanced nurse assisting skills.
 

Students will be trained in the skill of Phlebotomy including venipuncture, capillary
 punctures, blood cultures, specimen processing, data entry, laboratory safety
,quality control, and laboratory billing; Electrocardiography including detailed
 anatomy of the heart, measuring the rhythm of the heart, and identifying
 abnormalities EKG waves; Nurse Assistant including checking blood pressure,
temperature, pulse, respiration, patient’s hygiene, charting in medical records, the
 nurse process, wound care, bed making, and restraints.
